The Sanctuary by Dawenwalker Hollow but not empty She stood Arms embracing the sacred Embracing the light and silence Embracing the wonder and song and joys and tears. Bones of steel and wood Rooted in the earth and reaching to the heavens Nothing but inanimate wood, Plaster, concrete and steel. Yet. breathing and beckoning. “Fill me up” she cries. “Celebrate and rejoice here again. Let me be a doorway between this world and the other, a doorway to the great unknown.” Hollow but not empty She stands, ready, waiting. © Mary Jane Ward (aka Dawenwalker) 2013 |
