CUUPS Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans of Durango, CO.
The mission of CUUPS of Durango is to join together to awaken…to develop a deeper level of consciousness through ritual, music and study/discussions in a like minded community. We are UU members who also treasure our Pagan traditions and wish to gather - to celebrate, teach and grow our Pagan culture, practices and philosophical knowledge base. Many modern Pagans find their beliefs are very much in harmony with UU Principles, especially the reverence for “the independent web of which we are a part.”
The CUUPS covenant group meets on the second and fourth Thursday evenings of each month at Bowman Hall from 6:30 - 8:30pm.
We discuss/learn/practice different spiritual concepts from a broad range of traditions. There will be a short social time and then we have a discussion leader/presenter for the evening’s topic followed by discussion of spiritual topics with time for group participation. This is definitely not a LECTURE – we want people to engage and participate and bring their own truth to the circle.
We also have seasonal and moon related ritual/celebration nights. These celebrations are led by people of differing traditions - so some will be Wiccan, others Norse, Druid, or Shamanic, etc. Usually they involve feasting and music.
For more information on this group, please email [email protected] or call 385-9597 or see Dawenwalker. CUUPS events through January 2014 are noted in the religious education calendar. More general information about CUUPS can be found at CUUPS.org
